CMHC's Institute for the Prevention of Violence, a not-for-profit organization, offers affordable, culturally sensitive and professional certification training to health care providers, church groups, civic organizations and others needing such training. Our training is innovative and comprehensive. It affords the participants the opportunity to increase their knowledge. It also provides them with the information necessary to conduct violence intervention and prevention activities in their own communities or places of business.
The Institute for the Prevention of Violence was founded by Carl C. Bell, M.D., President and CEO of Community Mental Health Council, Inc. He is also a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Illinois' School of Medicine.
